About 18 months ago we spent an average of $700-800 a month on our household budget (food, personal care items, household items, pet care, and baby needs). We took the Dave Ramsey class at our church and made it our mission to pay off our house early! We cut our household budget to $500 a month and I found this very hard and felt like we couldn't buy all the things we needed on this new budget. I started reading books and looking on the internet for way to cut my budget. After a TON of time I did find many different strategies I could use and cut my budget down to about $350 a month!

Among the biggest challenges for me has been reforming my spending and saving habits. We used to shop like the majority of middle-class people likely shop. A weekly trip with several little ones in between always spending more than I planned ($600-$800 a month) and thinking that was just the way it had to be! I have seen the light and I am reformed!
