About
My name is Chrissy and I live about 20 miles east of Kansas City Missouri. My husband and I have been married about 6 years and are both teachers. After I had my first daughter I became a stay at home mom and love it!! We have two wonderful girls who are 3 and 4.
Just a few years ago we spent an average of $700-900 a month on our household budget (food, personal care items, household items, pet care, and baby needs). In 2007 we took the Dave Ramsey class at our church and made it our mission to pay off our house early! We cut our household budget to $500 a month and I found this very hard and felt like we couldn’t buy all the things we needed on this new budget. I started reading books and looking on the Internet for way to cut my budget. After a TON of time I did find many different strategies I could use and cut my budget down to about $350 a month!
Kristin and I were so excited to be saving our families so much money and we felt that we should be sharing all this wonderful information. This is how BeCentsAble was born! We have worked for months to develop our workshop so that everyone can learn how to use this system without the months of research and trial and error that we went through.
Becentsable’s Mission… “Provide a one-stop savings resource to help families save time and money so they can focus on more important things. We encourage everyone to ‘spread the wealth’ by using their new money-saving skills to give back to their communities.”
At Becentsable our goal is to feature relevant, mainstream ideas. We realize that being frugal takes commitment and it needs to be simple to employ and simple to maintain.
We encourage our readers to actively participate in our blogging community! We learn from each other…plain and simple! Tell us what you think in an e-mail or by leaving comments on our posts. In doing so our hope is that saving money will be a community effort!
We do ask that all commentary be constructive in nature. We are not here to judge or be judged. If we feel a comment is derogatory, inflammatory or deliberately unkind, we reserve the right to remove it without notice or explanation.

I was wondering if you could tell me what (washing soda) actually is. I’m not sure if it has a certain name at our grocery store or if it is something we are supose to make up ourselves. Our stores near here is Market basket or Hannafords. We do have walmart and target.
I know what it says in the book but doesn’t explain too much in detail.
Here are a few links to help you:

Hi, I just heard about this site from Lisa Pate-Hill. It is very cool. Thank you for all you are doing here. She shared your wonderful story with me and I was so impressed.
LOVED your book! What a wealth of information!! Thank you!
I am curious to know if the owners of the websites that are listed under the stores deals with each state are becenstable educators? Thank you
Most of these sites are not Educators but a few are.
Here’s a stumper for you.
Try finding VEGAN (plant-based) coupons. Preferably organic products, not just organic produce. And not for Silk, White Wave, or Hain Celestial companies’ products.
Is it possible?
If you have some brands that you like you can try their website.
Hey, are you considering offering your book so that it can be read on an ebook? I have a nook and really wanted to buy your book to read in that format.
Thank you,
Becky in OK

I was wondering if you could do some kind of post for me. I live in Liberty, MO and we have only 2 grocery stores here, a Hyvee and Price chopper. Neither stores offer double coupons days of any kind. I can usually save about $25-$35 a trip but nothing amazingly awesome. I went to our Hyvee Friday and my checker told me I was his second best coupon giver of the day he had, the first lady he had he ended up giving her money back and said she had coupons he had never seen. I am wanting to talk with this lady to see what she does. I thought I would try your spot first since your site was how I got started and it is a popular site. Is there somewhere I could post this. Thanks
I want to win
