Today we are reviewing and giving away a subscription to a meal planning resource I was recently introduced to, e-mealz.com.

Our Associate Pastor’s wife introduced me to this service developed and offered by another associate pastor’s wife!

E-Mealz offers weekly meal planning based on current sales ads for several grocery stores, WalMart and Aldi.

  • Ralph’s (CA)
  • Kroger (and it’s affiliates)
  • WalMart
  • Publix
  • and an Any Store Plan

They also break each of these meal plan into various dietary restrictions (low-carb, low-fat, weight watchers, vegetarian) as well as family sizes (family of 4-6 and 2 person meal plans).
I tried this for two weeks and so far, I love it…I do have to modify it a bit sometimes to meet my kids’ dietary restrictions but it gives me great ideas intended to be low-budget and to be family friendly!

I chose the WalMart plan and the Any Store plan because I felt those would be most versatile and would allow me to price match and still meet my budget.

The women behind E-mealz have designed the plan around sales cycles and regular pricing at each of the stores. If you’re not familiar with sales cycle shopping/planning, come back here in a couple of weeks, we’ll have a basic framework for you!

Each week’s plan includes the menu (with sides), brief instructions where needed and a complete shopping list!

The service is a subscription service (they ARE doing half your work for you!) but at just $5 a month it is SOO inexpensive I have found it to be a non-issue! You can even earn credit back for referrals!

They always have two weeks worth of menu plans available for each store so I’ve been printing and storing them so I can mix and match from 14 meals!

******************************

If you think this sounds good today is your lucky day!! We are giving away a 6-month subscription ($30 value) to e-mealz!

by chrissy on September 10, 2008

in Uncategorized

Yeah, the kids are napping, I have NO migraine and the computer is cooperating (for now!) so I am once again able to bring you the fun stuff going on around the blogosphere (or our little corner of it anyway)!

First, the important stuff!

:: Check out the Grocery Gathering tonight or tomorrow morning

  • The large majority of the Grocery store deals will be updated in the next couple of days as well as the PREVIEWS!! It’s growing by leaps and bounds!
  • While you are perusing (or scouring) the deals, think about how you can give back — join the $5 Charity Challenge enter to win the giveaway!
  • On a side note: It’s SO much better than it was before, even Chrissy and I have to admit we went the wrong direction with the first change and now that we’ve got it all settled we’re thinking…”Uh, why didn’t we do this the 1st time???!!”. Oh well, live and learn.

:: Check in tomorrow for another product review and a giveaway!

  • We’ll be announcing the winner of last week’s giveaway, too!

:: Store deals and coupons

:: Fun and Free Stuff

  • The Queen of Freebies and Printable Coupons: Freebies 4 Mom: Walmart Freebies List
  • Be Sure to check out her list of Hot Freebies, Coupons and Sweeps while you are there!
  • Even if you aren’t the least bit interested in exercising OR you are already on the track, check out this post…at the very least, the comic will make you laugh!

:: Parenting Resources and something for the Dad in your life!

Things to read in your free time (or, between diapers, snacks and disaster clean-up!)

If you come across a great blog or post with information you think is worth sharing…e-mail me at centsable.kristin [at] gmail.com.
